Delivery timeline
Work back from the date the unit has to be in service.
HLE delivers most units 3 to 6 months after the signed order, deposit and chassis; trailers 3 to 4 months after the signed order, deposit and trailer. Most of the market quotes a year or more for a ground-up build; HLE has delivered a high-priority unit in about 80 days from purchase order to finished unit. Pick the vehicle, enter the date you need it by, and you get the date the order, deposit and chassis have to be in. The proposal carries the dated schedule for your unit.

What happens inside those days
From the signed order, deposit, chassis and drawing to delivery: 90 days (3 months) at the short end, 180 days (6 months) at the long end. A typical build does not run past 6 months.

| 1 | Body and structure The steel cage is welded and powder-coated, then insulated and skinned: sidewalls, roof and floor go on station by station, and the body is painted. This is the part of the build that decides how the unit holds up in year ten. | 30 – 55 days |
| 2 | Interior and equipment Cabinetry, electrical harnesses and panels, HVAC, plumbing, the equipment your program runs on, and the interior finish. Graphics go on inside these days. | 45 – 97 days |
| 3 | Rain test, road test and delivery Fifteen minutes minimum in the rain booth with a person inside, a road test with hard braking and acceleration, the final inspection packet, then the walkthrough, panel drawings and warranty registration. | 15 – 28 days |
